LANZADO EL DEIMOS I/LAUNCHING OF DEIMOS I

Ayer, 29 de julio de 2009, a las 20,45 hora española, fue lanzado con éxito desde Kazajistán el DEIMOS I.
Se trata del primer satélite comercial europeo y español propiedad de una empresa particular. Las almas detrás del proyecto son la empresa DEIMOS IMAGING (parte de Elecnor) y el LATUV de la Universidad de Valladolid y el objetivo es la toma de datos, que en palabras del presidente de Deimos: "...nos permiten confeccionar informes sobre campos agrícolas para mejorar las cosechas, o en la vigilancia de incendios forestales podemos hacer un seguimiento continuo del territorio antes del fuego, durante el mismo en tiempo real y después, definiendo la tierra quemada con una perimetría exacta"
El lanzamiento fue seguido desde el Parque Tecnológico de Boecillo (Valladolid) donde está radicada DEIMOS IMAGING y el centrp de control de la misión y fue presentado por el astronauta español Pedro Duque , presidente de DEIMOS IMAGING, y el Dr. J.L. Casanova director del LATUV.

Yesterday, July 29th 2009, was launched in Kazajistan the DEIMOS I.
DEIMOS I is the first spanish and european comercial satllite built from private means. After the rpoject are DEIMOS IMAGING (a subsidiary of ELECNOR) and the LATUV (Laboratory of Teledetection of the University of Valladolid), and its goal its the collection of data that, according to the DEIMOS C.E.O.: "... will allow us to make reports about agriculture matters in order to improve the results, about the surveillance and prevention of forestry arsons, with a precise telemetry"
Tha launching was followed form the Technological Park or Boecillo (Valladolid, Spain) were is located DEIMOS IMAGING and the control center of the mission. It was introduced by the spanish astronaut Pedro Duque, president of DEIMOS IMAGING, and the Dr. J.L. Casanova , director of the LATUV.

Meteotek'08

El proyecto Meteotek'o8 es una iniciativa de cuatro alumnos de entre 18 y 19 años del I.E.S. La Bisbal, Cataluña (España), Martí Gasull, Gerard Marull, Jaume Puigmiquel y Sergi Saballs, con la ayuda de su profesor Jordi Fanalls.
El objetivo era alcanzar la estratosfera con un globo de helio casero, empleando componentes fabricados por ellos mismos, con un coste de menos de 100 euros y un montón de horas de trabajo.
El lanzamiento se produjo con exito el pasado 28 de febrero y el globo alcanzó una altitud de 30.677 m antes de explotar. Después de 2 horas y 10 minutos, la sonda aterrizó a 38 Km de su punto de origen prácticamente intacta y con un buen número de fotografías .

The Meteotek'08 is an initiative of four students among 18 and 19 years of the High School La Bisbal, Catalonia (Spain), Martí Gasull, Gérard Marull, Jaume Puigmiquel and Sergi Saballs, with the help of their teacher Jordi Fanalls.
The objective was to reach the stratosphere with a home-made helium globe, using components made by themselves, with a cost of less than 100 Euros and a pile of working hours.
The launching took place in February,28 succesfully and the globe reached an altitude of 30.677 m before exploding. After 2 hours and 10 minutes of fly, the probe landed at 38 Km of the launching point practically intact, loaded with many good photographies.
